QUOTES
Rich Heffron -
The USATF 50 mile championship at Tussey Mountainback was my first attempt at the distance, so I am pleased with the result. Overall, it was a positive experience as my energy levels were solid all day and my stomach gave me no trouble. The only problem was that I didn’t specifically prepare for the course, which constantly climbs and descends totaling over 5400ft of elevation gain. By the final hill at mile 40 my legs were absolutely sapped and I struggled to the finish line. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, it was 40 miles of racing and 10 miles of survival. I look forward to returning next year as the U.S. Champs are being held at Tussey again. It is a beautiful course that winds through rural state forests on quiet gravel and dirt roads—you can’t ask for much better.

Cole Crosby - This was the hardest I have ever fought in a race." "By mile 21, I was falling apart physically but somehow was able to finish.
