Cortland Stadium/White Field is an 8-lane Beynon BSS 3000 all-weather surface. Spikes may be ¼” or less for the track, runways and high jump apron. There are two runways for the horizontal jumps. Horizontal jumps may be configured to run north-south. The pole vault may be configured to run east-west. The long jump board is 8’ from the pit. The boards for the women’s triple jumps are at 9m (29’7”) and 11m (36’2”) from the pit. For the men the boards are set at 11m (36’2”) and 12.5m (41’1”). UCS International starting blocks will be provided for all athletes. The throwing area is located approximately 250 meters near Rt 281 parking lot. The circles for the shot, discus and hammer are brushed concrete. The javelin is thrown from a grass runway and 1” spikes are permissible. Bathrooms - General bathroom facilities will be available at the Stadium Complex. Portable bathrooms will be available at the throwing areas. Parking - Vehicle parking is limited at the Stadium Complex. Spectators should park in the lot adjacent to the high jump area, in the Rt 281 parking lot or lot C3 near the Professional Studies Building.
Teams may set-up tents near the throwing area or in the grassy areas outside of the fence for the track at the South End (behind the scoreboard). Tents cannot be set up in the stands. Athletes should stay off the track and infield during the competition unless they are participating in an event.
The immediate choice for shelter in inclement weather would be team vehicles. The Concourse under the stands of the Stadium Complex is not considered a safe location to take shelter. Lightening will require immediate suspension of competition and a minimum 30-minute delay following the last reported strike as determined by the Athletic Trainer. The Games Committee has the right to alter the competition schedule due to these extenuating circumstances.
There is no admission fee.
An athletic trainer will be on duty throughout the competition. Cortland Regional Medical Center is located at 134 Homer Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045, approximately 2.5 miles from the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.
