News and notes from the 2022 USATF Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida

Awards and Recognition

• Siobhan Sharpsteen (Waverly, NY) was named the Race Walker Athlete of the Year (Masters 45-49).
• James "Russ" Ebbets (Union Springs, NY) - was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Coaching Education committee.
• Kathy McLymond (Williamson, NY) was the recipient of the Andy Bakjian Award presented by the Officials committee.  The award is given annually to the official who has given outstanding service throughout a career dedicated to managing sports and helping to take officiating of track and field to a higher level.
• Matt Merrill (Hilton, NY) was presented with the Chair Award by the Officials Committee.  The award recognizes individuals whose support to the Chair and the Committee reflect their dedication and leadership and who have significantly assisted in helping the Committee to reach its goals.
