USATF Niagara mourns the passing of long-time member Stephanie Krusch

It is with immense sadness that we share that long-time USATF Niagara member Stephanie Krusch passed away suddenly on July 17.  She was 30 years old.   Stephanie was a vital member of the Genesse Valley Harriers.

She was dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people in Rochester, and simultaneously worked as a phlebotomist & patient care technician while studying to become a nurse. Running was one of Stephanie’s greatest passions. She completed many races and constantly improved her speed and endurance. Her dedication to running & that community was truly impressive. She loved the RIT & Pittsford-Mendon track teams.

GVH coach Mike Reif reflected on Stephanie after her passing:

Stephanie as a dedicated and happy go lucky member of our club for a number of years. She worked very hard to do the best she could every time out either in training or a race situation. We could always count on Stephanie to be there when we needed her. She traveled with us to USATF National Club XC Championship events across the country a number of times and always gave it her very best effort. Indeed we were always very proud of Stephanie's grit and love of the sport. Her smile and positivity were constant. She will be missed immensely.

"Stephanie was a loyal and dedicated USATF member, part of a great team and a great program," offered USATF Niagara president Russ Ebbets.  "Our heart felt condolances are with her family and friends.
