Muse Wins Silver and Bronze Medals at World Masters Championships in Sweden

The 2024 World Masters Athletics Championships got underway this morning (13-Aug) in Gothenburg, Sweden, and will run through August 25.

8032 athletes from 110 countries are entered. 602 athletes from the United States are entered in the competition; the largest U.S. team for a world championship held outside of the U.S. The previous record was 445 athletes.

Five (5) USATF Niagara members are entered. They are:

• Crystal Muse (W50-54 Hammer Throw, Shot Put)
• Walter Potocki (M40-44 3000m Steeplechase, 8 km Cross Country)
• Timothy Riccardi (M65-69 10 km Road Race, 8 km Cross Country 
• David Talcott (M60-64 5000m Race Walk, 10 km Race Walk, 20 km Race Walk 
• Erin Taylor Talcott (W45-49 5000m Race Walk, 10 km Race Walk, 20 km Race Walk, Discus Throw)
