Napoleon Second at USATF Championships; Qualifies for Tokyo World Championships

Results

Five standout athletes from the USATF Niagara association competed on the national stage at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, held July 31–August 3 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Representing a range of disciplines, these athletes delivered strong performances against the nation’s best.

Leading the way was Angelina Napoleon, who secured a 2nd-place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:10.96, earning a spot on Team USA for the 2025 World Athletics Championships to be held next month in Tokyo. Her time was just .24 seconds off her career best set in June. 

In the heptathlon, Maddie Pitts placed 9th overall with a solid 5695-point effort, showcasing consistency across all seven events.

Gabriele Cunningham took 13th place in the 100m hurdles, finishing in 13.08 seconds, while Marcus Johnson of Honeydew Consulting TC placed 19th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.30.

Rounding out the group, Jessica McGorty (PUMA) finished 29th in the 1500m, clocking 4:16.37.
