OVERVIEW

The Empire State Classic (ESC) will be held on Saturday, July 30 at SUNY Cortland.  The ESC is a full track & field competition featuring team competition between the four USATF associations within New York (Adirondack, Long Island, New York, and Niagara).  Included in the event will be a 4 mile road race.

The Niagara Association welcomes nominations for team members for each age division for the Empire State Challenge 4-Mile Team Road Race

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry Fees:  $25 (on or before July 25)

T-shirts will be provided to those entered by July 23.

 

TEAMS / DIVISIONS 

Open (39 and under), 40+ for men and women.

All team members must wear the Association Jersey. Association jerseys will be distributed by the team manager for each association. Unless indicated 40+ runners will score in their age division.

Each association may declare seven (7) individuals for each division team for men and women. Declarations are due by Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:59pm EST.

Open, non-affiliated runners must register by the July 25, 2022 deadline. There will be no day of registration.

 

AWARDS & PRIZE MONEY

The winning team and top 10 individuals in age division will win. The winning team will be determined by the cumulative time for the top four individuals of the team.

Each of the four division winning teams will win $250.

COURSE INFORMATION

This is a 4-mile hairpin out and back course. It is predominantly flat road with a final 150 yard grass stretch finishing at the Cortland Track Stadium. Course has one significant uphill and one downhill, long straight-aways and several sweeping turns.
