Coppi Fourth at USATF Mountain Running Championships in Utah

The 2024 USATF Mountain Running Championships were held on Saturday (13-July) at Snowbird Ski Resort in Snowbird, UT. The event served as the Team USA selection race for the upcoming World Mountain & Trail Running Championships in Chiavenna, Italy on October 12.

The 8.7-mile course included 3610 feet of vertical gain. 

Two (2) athletes from USATF Niagara were among the 74 competitors in the USATF championship races. Mason Coppi, 26, (pictured at top of page) of Liverpool finished fourth running 1:21:17. The race was won by Christian Allen of Utah in a time of 1:18:18. Coppi finished just seven seconds behind third place finisher Zachary Erikson of Utah. At last year's championships in New Hampshire Coppi placed eighth.

AJ Beers, 27, of Manlius finished 20th running 1:38:09.
