Kostarellis 12th, Orie 20th at USATF 20 km Championships
Results
USATF Niagara athletes turned in strong performances at the
USATF 20 km Championships
held September 1 in New Haven, Connecticut. The national championship brought together the country’s top road racers for the Labor Day tradition through downtown streets.
Leading the way for Niagara was
Annamaria Kostarellis
, who placed 12th overall in the women’s race, clocking 1:08:11. She was followed by
Gabrielle Orie
, the newly crowned USATF Niagara 5 km champion from the previous day, who finished 20th in 1:11:57.
Bella Burda
rounded out the trio, crossing the line 29th in 1:15:55.
The women’s race was won by Aubrey Frentheway of Utah, who captured her first U.S. title in 1:05:36.
